Properties
MELEE's origin dates back to 1982 when several people gathered for what were then called "Stickfytes." In 1988, many of these same people (hereafter referred to as "Founders") began employing the expression "MELEE" to be the new name of this non-profit league of enactors who studied martial combat in a setting who's backdrop was the Ancient/Classical World, Middle Ages, through the late Renaissance.
Throughout the nearly twenty-five years (as of 2006, the 25th year) of it's existance MELEE has operated as a non-profit entity and no one has ever received a salary for their efforts. This remains true to this present day. The strength of MELEE has been its open and creative environment where many people have, over the years, pulled together for the benefit and betterment of the organization. Many of these contributions have taken the form of various intellectual properties that were either donated outright, or were offered for use with permission.
To pay proper attention to those parties who have been kind enough to permit the use of their various names, images, and like intellectual properties, this page is dedicated to their selfless contribution. Likewise, the page should be the proper statement of record to identify the rightful owners of various intellectual properties.
